Service Description

This summer discover the beauty and spiritual significance of ancient Sanskrit shlokas with us, and deepen your understanding of India's rich cultural heritage. Kids will learn about the vibrant culture of India, it's beautiful festivals, stories from Ramayana & Mahabharata, symbolism about our Gods and Goddesses, the diversity and customs of different cultures of India which makes it unique and a lot more! Our teaching style for Shloka classes is unique as we introduce one God/Goddess each class and kids learn about their significance, symbolism, their story, festival and the associated Shloka/Mantra. By starting with practical recitation and understanding of the hymns, students are able to connect with the essence and significance of Shlokas profoundly. This hands-on approach allows them to engage with the spiritual and cultural aspects of Shlokas, enabling a deeper appreciation and application in their daily lives. The kids are gradually introduced to chanting, use of mala and significance of spirituality. Each class, kids will get an opportunity to learn a new Shloka; through our playful and interactive approach which will make learning fun and engaging! They also discover the meaning behind each Shloka, explore details about the deity associated with it, and hear a fascinating story related to it. Highlights: • Unique and Enriching experience • Hands-on learning with Cultural Immersion • Personal Growth along with developing Mindfulness and Spirituality • Lasting Positive Impact and help strengthen connection to our cultural roots The last class of the session will be a group act where the kids will come together virtually and either do talent show (of all that they learned) or a group act like a skit where they will be assigned a part by their teacher. The goal is for kids to learn and retain the lessons creatively via play. Everything will be driven by the assigned teacher for the session. The course is for the duration of 9 weeks! Each class is 45 minutes long, as recommended by education experts to prevent students from feeling overwhelmed while still allowing them to learn and retain the teachings. Detailed week-wise curriculum will be shared with registered students. If you have already taken our Level 1 Shloka classes before please reach out before registering! Recommended Ages: 6 - 15 years. If you have any questions about the curriculum or registration please reach out on 732-800-6188 or email at contact@ourswadeshiroots.com
