Mrs Nirali

Namaste! My name is Nirali Naik, and I am passionate about teaching, learning, and staying connected to our cultural roots. I hold a Master's degree in Science, a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.), and a Master's degree in Indian Classical Dance.

Teaching has been at the heart of my journey from a very young age. I spent five years teaching at the higher secondary level in India while also sharing my
love for dance with young children.

Life has given me the opportunity to live and work in different countries, including India, the United States, the Netherlands, and Canada. In the Netherlands, I continued my passion for education by working as a researcher at Saxion University, where I also supported and mentored students in their academic journeys.

Today, I live in Canada and work as the Manager of Newcomer Settlement Services at YWCA St. Thomas-Elgin, helping newcomers build successful and fulfilling lives in their new home. Throughout my career, one thing has remained constant—my love for teaching and connecting with people.

As a proud Gujarati, I strongly believe that language is more than just a way of
communication—it is a bridge to our culture, values, traditions, and identity. At home, my husband and I have always encouraged our daughter to speak Gujarati so she can remain connected to her roots and appreciate the richness of our heritage.

I joined Swadeshi Roots because I believe language is a powerful way to preserve culture and build connections. While it is important for future generations to stay connected to their Gujarati roots, I also believe our language and culture can be shared with people from all backgrounds. Just as we learn other languages to connect with the world, I hope to inspire others to discover the beauty of Gujarati language, traditions, and values.

I look forward to learning, sharing, and growing together with you.
ચાલો, ગુજરાતી બોલીએ, શીખીએ અનેઆપણી સંસ્કૃ તતનેઆગામી પેઢીઓસુધી જીવંત રાખીએ!
(Let's speak Gujarati, learn together, and keep our culture alive for generations to come.)

Sincerely,

Mrs Nirali
